John: How do you solve a interview case study question?
I have an job interview with a business consulting firm for a Business Analyst position. The interview requires an individual to solve a case study on the spot such as how many baseballs are sold in the US annually. What is the best way to solve a case study such as this?

Best answer:

Answer by minus
That question and most others can not be solved on the spot without any research.

Then you could always goggle it. Like wikipedia it is likely you will get inaccurate information.

Have fun and use better gramme at the interview.

MyDogCliff15: I just saved a baby bunny from my dog’s mouth?!?!?
I just saved a baby bunny from my dogs mouth. What should I do?! This is what I know so far. It’s eyes are barely open just tiny little slits. What should I feed it?! And what else should I do? I know once its gets big enough that I have to let it go. I need HELP!

Okay, first take a deep breath.
You need to give it a warm bath in the sink with Dawn, first, to get the bacteria from your dog’s mouth off of it’s fur and warm it up. Use warm, running water to bathe it in and don’t get it’s ears wet. Then, with a fluffy towel, very carefully dry his fur so he doesn’t get too cold. Find a box and place another dry towel in the bottom on top of a heating pad or hot water bottle to keep him warm. Place him in the towel and loosely wrap his body in it while you prepare his dinner.
Second, I would suggest pureeing some carrots and lettuce and adding some water until it’s almost like soup. Then, use an eyedropper to feed the bunny.
Finally, you’ll need to take the little thing to a vet in the morning to get proper, profession advice so that it gets the best start possible.

How do you solve systems of equations by graphing?

Max: How do you solve systems of equations by graphing?
I don’t understand this stuff. The graphing is no problem but I need to know how to solve these type of equations. For example- 8x-3y=-3? Where do you start from that equation? One number has x and the other y while the other is just a negative number. How do you solve that? Can someone explain this to me? Thanks.

How would I solve these linear combination word problems?

ಌpeace.love.&+hearts.ಌ: How would I solve these linear combination word problems?
Okay there are two. Please help me by solving and showing the steps. Thanks.

There is a rectangle and you have to find the perimeter. The ratio of length to width is 8:3. The total perimeter is 88 inches. What is the length and width?

You are traveling at a speed downhill, for 55 miles. It takes you 110 minutes. The return trip uphill takes 220 minutes. Find the current and the rate.

I believe the systems would be something like

r-c for the uphill and r+c for downhill but i am obviously lacking the rest of the system

Please help me these are systems so solve by either eliminating or substituting.

Best answer:

Answer by Philo
length / width = 8/3 = 8x / 3x
perimeter = 2(L + W)
88 = 2( 8x + 3x)
88 = 22x
x = 4
so length = 8(4) = 32 in, width = 3(4) = 12 in.

downhill or downstream?
distance = rate time time
downstream rate = r + c, upstream r – c
time must be hours to match speed’s miles per hour
down: (r + c)(110/60) = 55
up: (r – c)(220/60) = 55

r + c = 55(6/11) = 30
r – c = 55(6/22) = 15 ……. add eq
2r = 45
r = 22.5 mph

r + c = 30
r – c = 15 ………….subtr. eq
2c = 15
c = 7.5

How do I clean the air and get rid of odor in apt?

Dear Prudence: How do I clean the air and get rid of odor in apt?
I recently bought an apt in Miami. I bought a large leather sectional and also had carpet installed. Both are emitting a strong and unpleasant scent. I thought it would just go away on its own, but it has been lingering for weeks.

It is way too hot and humid to open windows. Is there something that I can use to 1) remove this odor? and 2) clean the air since I can’t have windows open?

When might it be better to solve a quadratic equation by factoring the polynomial without first
putting it in standard form?

Not too sure. Perfect square form? or is that even a form?

I would say that you would generally want to put in in standard form: ax2+bx+ c, first no matter what the situation. It would make factoring easier and defines the constants a,b,&c for the quadratic equation.
